Growing Pains

Often times when we are going through our individual challenges it is common for us to moan and cry relentlessly “why me.” Regardless of how minuscule the problem is, when we are faced with it – it is larger and taller than Mt. Everest. Have you ever looked back after your victory, after your healing, after you got the job that you wanted, after you were able to pay the bill, after your son stopped using drugs….have your ever looked back and asked yourself "how did I make it"?

It takes us back to the old saying that “God does not put any more on us than we can bear.” On occasion I am sure we have thought to ourselves, boy, “God must believe that I am a warrior!! This battle is steadfast.” What we may not realize is that the problems remain the same—it is the characters and the location that changes. We must recognize that mistakes are not made by the Divine Mind. Even the pain and the trials have a reason. If each problem is similar does this mean that each experience and lesson learned is equally similar? I would say not. The problem is the power bill is past due. Some will immediately fret, worry and lament. Does this pay the bill? Some will borrow from whomever they can borrow from. And what about the next time, what will you do if/when it happens again? Some will be fortunate to say I have enough in the bank I will take some out and keep my lights on. And many will have to wait in the dark for another answer.

Why get frustrated? Why fret or worry? This is the time to call upon the power and the grace of God. Placing your self and the power bill into the hands of the Almighty will give you a sincere sense of peace. With this peace…victory soon follows. But faith without works is dead. Will your read your bible verses, light a candle, meditate or simply fall down on your knees and talk with Our Father? This can apply to each of our life’s challenges. When you are faced with adversity and you receive a victory you have just been given a testimony to share with others. Remember, the problems remain the same the characters and the location change. When you have toiled, labored, suffered and have been healed…it is your obligation to extract the lessons and the methods of victory to assist someone else as they walk this path. If we should repeat the same cycles and not gain any knowledge, wisdom or strength…then you must question yourself as to what am I really doing here and where is my path?

Each trial, hurt, heartache, broken promise, torn marriage, frustrating finances, loneliness and health concern is the foundation upon which we build our character and strength in the Lord. We also gain insight into how to deal with this challenge if we ever meet it on this path again. Knowledge is power. There is power and awakening in our trials.

How to Prepare A Gem Essence and Crystal Elixir

Here is another message from our favorite Chiropractor.

*Please note that this does not replace the advice of a doctor. If you are having medical issues, please see your physician.*

What You Need

1. A glass container filled with about 12 ounces of water. If you are going to

be placing your essence outside be sure to cover it. Any container you use

should be cleansed well.

2. Distilled water is preferable because it's free of mineral content.

3. A crystal, which should be cleansed in salt water before being used. If

you're going to make an essence, which combines more than one crystal, you can

put them in the same container.

Basic Preparation

Sit quietly in meditation for a few minutes before preparing your essence. It's

usually not a good idea to prepare a mixture when you're upset, agitated, or in

a hurry to do something else.

1. If the temperature is above freezing you can put the water outside. Leave it

there for 24 hours (it doesn't matter if you leave it there longer). If it's

below freezing put the water in a sunny place in your house.

2. Take the crystals out of the water with clean tongs. Pour a small quantity of

the water into a one-ounce amber dropper bottle. This is considered the mother

tincture. If you are not alcohol-sensitive put in a teaspoon of brandy to

preserve it or put in the refrigerator. (During cold weather this isn't

necessary. The brandy is mainly for the purpose of preserving this tincture for

a year). Store the remainder of the essence in the refrigerator.

3. I recommend taking 8 drops of the essence under the tongue 3-4 times a day.

It is best to take it before, rather than after, a meal. How long to take the

mixture is up to what you are treating and how you feel.

4. To use this tincture externally, fill a 4 oz spray bottle or mister half full

with plain distilled water. Then fill the other half of the bottle with the

tincture you have made. Turn the bottle over a few times to blend the tincture

and distilled water together.

5. Spray over yourself or patient. Hold the bottle about a foot away from

yourself and mist your aura energy around you.

6. Gem essences are safe enough to use with children, pets and plants, too.

Gem essence work in harmony with the body by interacting with our bio-sheath and

are natural and self-adjusting. When crystals are activated by natural sunlight,

they transfer their vibrational signature into water, creating a remedy that is

safe, effective and used in conjunction with all modalities of healing.

Stones not to be used

Never use stones that can flake off into a tincture. Avoid using stones in the

Mica family. Avoid using soft stones that may leach powder or stones that are

porous. Avoid using dyed stones.

To use these softer stones, you can certainly use the double boiler method and

place a glass bowl with the stone only (no water) within another bowl with

water. The sun transfers the energy from the stone, into the water in the bowl

beneath it.

How to Prepare A Crystal Elixir

What You Need

1. A glass bottle with a roll on top or perfume spritzer.

2. Sunflower, safflower, jojoba, canola oil are good to use because they are

either light oils or are very stable oil (jojoba).

3. A crystal, which should be cleansed in salt water before being used. If

you're going to make an elixir, which combines more than one crystal, you can

put them in the same container. These crystals will stay in the bottle with the

ingredients.

4. You can also consider using the appropriate herbs in this elixir. Lavender,

chamomile, thyme, basil, orange rind, lemon rind, rose buds are all great

choices depending on what you are making the elixir for. You can also choose

these same or other scents in essential oils.

Basic Preparation

Enjoy a peaceful meditation for a few minutes before preparing your essence.

Focus your intention on what you are achieving. It's usually not a good idea to

prepare essence when you're pre-occupied, agitated, angry or upset.

1. Add your crystals to the bottle.

2. Add the oil, about ¾ full. Add the herbs, if you wish.

3. Place the mixture in the sun for 2-3 hours. The sunlight will charge the oil

with the crystal vibrations and enhance the oil with the herbal energies.

4. Bring it back indoors. We often reiki-charge the oil or you can hold the oil

at your heart level and say a positive affirmation or intention for using your

elixir.

5. If you are adding essential oils, add them at the very end.

Turn the bottle over a few times when you are ready to use it. Roll the elixir

on your pulse points at the wrist, neck, top of feet and two inches from the

groin on either side.

Stones not to be used

Never use stones that can flake off into a tincture. Avoid using stones in the

Mica family. Avoid using soft stones that may leach powder or stones that are

porous. Avoid using dyed stones.

To use these softer stones, you can certainly use the double boiler method and

place a glass bowl with the stone only (no water) within another bowl with

water. The sun transfers the energy from the stone, into the water in the bowl

beneath it.

The Clearest Perception

We’ve all heard of the infamous saying, “where there is a will there is a way.” If you reflect on some of the more trying times in your life when you didn’t know how, what or where you were going-you have experienced “the way.” This is a great test of faith. What if we used this concept but structured it differently in order to measure and achieve our goals? When we perceive clearly, plan carefully, project sincerely and remain persistent we will see outstanding results

Perception is having a clear picture - a concise concept of what you want or where you want to be in your life. In order to direct your energy and magnetize the object of your desire we must focus with razor sharp intensity. This magnetic energy will pull your desires to you. Perception is creating the perfect concept leading and directing us to our goals. Desiring a new car? See it. Touch it with and within your mind. Get a clear picture of the exact model, color and make of the car that you most want to drive. Complete this concept until you smell the interior. Drive it all the way home in your mind.

Planning. Create a plan. Writing and charting small obtainable goals is a step by step blueprint toward achieving your aspirations. It is extremely stimulating to record your goals, monitor your progress, chart the action steps and celebrate your accomplishments. When steps leading toward your goals are accomplished you become motivated with excitement and the desire to continue. A plan provides direction. Planning gives you a blueprint of what you are doing and where you are going. It will keep you on track. Planning will intensify your desires. Car? Visit car dealerships. Plan to talk to a salesman about the one you like best.

Patience. We all have moments and sometimes longer than just a moment- when we become completely annoyed with the pace that our life and our plans are taking. Patience is a virtue. The characteristic of patience can never be underestimated. We are an impatience people. Hence the era of the microwave, the instant this and the high speed that. Again, with my old time quotes, “anything good that is worth having is worth waiting for.” You cannot perceive and plan your goals and expect an overnight turnaround. Patience is similar to faith. We must have the faith that the energy we are putting into our goals will result in manifestation. Becoming impatient is like planting a seed for a crop of vegetables and going back to the soil to dig it up to see if it is still there. Plant the seed, water it with faith, prayers and your blueprint. Then step back and watch your harvest sprout. Be patience. You desire a car but you are unemployed. Unrealistic? No simply going on faith with patience as your companion.

Persistence. Each of the above outlined steps is useless if you fail to focus and remain persistent. The final step but one of the most important is not giving up. When you are reaching for something that is your desire – the process may not be easy nor burden free. Obstacles will arise and may sometime seem overwhelming but if you can catch a breath, exhale and regroup your goal is within reach. Where there is a will there is a way. The will is the persistence and the way is the path toward your aspirations. Persistence. You did your homework, shopped around, the funds manifested. What an awesome ride!!

Using Aromatherapy for Inspiration

One of the emails that I look forward to reading is from Andrew Pacholyk. MS, L.Ac. He is known for educating about a variety of alternative medical treatments to treat a variety ailments. I hope you enjoy this message on using Aramotherapy to help inspire you.

Finding Inspriation Series: Aromatherapy

My 'Finding Inspiration' series was written out of a need that comes up in my

practice, most often in Spring and Fall. I feel we all need a bit of

enlightenment now and then to help us move forward. Finding motivation through

inspiration can be the spark which sets you on your way!

Nature's Gifts

Spring is here. What better time to take advantage of the power of our sense of

smell!

We can find great inspiration through the power of our olfactory senses. Spring

time is the season of renewal, where flowers blossom, all green things grow and

people feel a renewal of energy within themselves. People even begin to wear

lighter colored clothing to "match" the environment around them. Seek your

inspiration in the scent of fresh flowers filling the air, as well as the bloom

of green herbs. Take advantage of these natural riches.

Utilize the Essence of Aromatherapy

Once you understand the purpose of why essential oils exist, you will want them

in your life forever. They represent life itself, the source of all healing. My

wish is that you will share them with a friend, and let them experience some of

your oils.

Essential Oils work on several different levels. They affect most people through

the sense of smell. The sense of smell is the most complexed and the sensitive

of the five senses.

Once the Olfactory receptors identify an aroma, nerve cells relay this

information directly to the Limbic system of the brain. Here, aromas can trigger

memories and influence behavior. Additionally, the Limbic system works in

conjunction with the pituitary gland and the Hypothalamus region of the brain to

regulate the hormonal activities thus triggering the production of hormones that

govern appetite, body temperature, insulin production, overall metabolism,

stress levels, sex drive, and conscious thought and reactions. The Limbic system

also influences immunity. Essential oils can have a positive affect on all these

functions.

Essential oils work through the skin as well. They can stimulate surface skin

cells, calm inflamed or irritated skin, release muscle spasms, soothe sore

muscles and relieve muscle tension.

Essential oils are used in a variety of ways.

* You can inhale them directly from the bottle.

* You can use them for skin care, hair care, and body care, as well as, for many

beauty purposes.

* Personal hygiene, aromatherapy baths, foot baths.

* Giving and receiving aromatherapy massages.

* Inhaling aromatherapy oil blends to relieve congestion, clear your head and

make breathing easier.

* You can also make wonderful fragrances with essential oils.

* Aromatherapy can prevent or ease an assortment of ailments. Essential oils

boost the immune system.

* You can treat aches, pains, injuries, with essential oils.

* Aromatherapy can help reduce stress, lift depression, restore emotional

well-being.

* You can disperse essential oils through the air in your home or office to

increase productivity or alter moods.

Relationship Reflections

As a few things rattled around in my mind as I prepared to write. I consistently reflected on a very personal in-depth conversation that I had with a long time acquaintance. She lamented consistently about her relationship with someone who she appears to care a lot about. There is no give and take. Simply taking on his part. No consideration, very little affection, helpfulness or just plain ole kindnesses. How can you NOT give a woman a birthday gift?! As I listened I became more frustrated and annoyed at the content of her stories. Although I am fully aware that there are three sides to every story-mine, yours and the truth…I feel that my frustrations are valid because I know both of them well. She has been enormously patient in this relationship and unselfish. Her story is not unique. Change the names and insert the names of someone that you know…and we all can relate.

It puzzles me and has for a very long time as to how people can be with someone – this applies to our family and friends- and be so totally wrapped up into themselves that they fail to see the needs of the other person. The formulas for being involved with someone-regardless of the level of friendship – is very simple…treat that someone as you want to be treated. The challenge is when one of the individual’s begins to take the other for granted. Showing someone that you appreciate them takes little effort and is very cost effective.

To make the concept easier I would like to compare it to money in the bank. If you want to get more out of the bank…you must continue to put more in or replenish what you had. Each time you make a withdrawal (the taking part of the relationship) in order for you to continue withdrawing you must make a deposit (the giving part of the relationship.) If you continue to withdraw and fail to deposit soon your account will be depleted. If a person is giving, attentive, patience, thoughtful, diligent, loving and helpful when you do not acknowledge or appreciate them…soon their emotional account will be depleted. Eventually they will have nothing more for you to withdraw because you failed to make any deposits.

How blessed we are to be loved!! To take this love for granted as well as mistreat it is a blemish on our character. We all are the children of a loving, giving and forgiving Father. Any father who loves his children does not want them mistreated. Cherish love and handle it with care. The love of friends, family, siblings, church families and other unions are an awakening of our spirit and add more meaning and emotional well being to our whole person.

Give generously, willingly, openly and with the faith and the hope of love. Love returns as love. We all need some.

How to Handle Karmic Challenges

This is an exceprt from the great Yogi Paramhansa Yogananda's book Karma and Reincarnation. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

People seldom look for hidden causes behind the occurrences in their lives. They cannot understand why they suffer. Suffering itself draws a thick curtain over their minds, obscuring its origins.

Only through deep, inner communion with higher states of consciousness does it become clear that all deficiencies, whether mental or physical, are the just consequences of a person's misbehavior in the past. A wise sage has the inner clarity to perceive the exact cause of every mishap. He can then prescribe actions that will remove that cause as an influence in a person's life.

One who was born disadvantaged in any way should resist fiercely the temptation to wallow in self-pity. To feel sorry for oneself is but to dilute one's inner power to overcome. Instead, affirm, "There are no obstacles: There are only opportunities!"

Accuse no one, not even yourself. Blame and accusation won't erase what has been done; it will affirm, rather, your dependency on circumstances over which, truly, you have lost control.

Seek God in the inner silence. Reconcile yourself to what is, and to what needs to be done about it. You can re-shape every karma, provided that from today onward you live by soul-consciousness. Repudiate the dictates of your ego. They are forever grounded in delusion.

The closer you come to God, the more surely you will know Him as Divine Love itself: the Nearest of the near, the very Dearest of the dear.

Keeping Positive

We all have our own personal challenges and trials that come with the territory of living. Each individual regardless of race, success, education or cultural differences goes through periods of trials that causes doubt, insecurities, depression and often times a sense of depression and “aloneness.” During this dark period it is easier to go with the flow rather than make the effort to pull yourself out. Going with the flow is simply giving up and remaining depressed and unfulfilled.

Going with the flow is easy. Anyone and most everyone does and can do that. But what if you decided to take a different route? What if you decided (because it is our decision) to eliminate giving in to the darkness (depression/doubt) and make a small attempt to go toward the Light? This is the more challenging part. Giving way to your depression and self pity only enhances that which you do not want. This negative feeling will continue to attract negative circumstances, experiences and negative people, placing you in and depression merry-go-round. When you are “pressed down” it is a way of saying to the negative forces surrounding you “hey you need a place to stay-well come on in I have an extra room.” Look at these forces as unwanted house guests. The more you entertain them….the longer they will stay. Why carry this burden of weight and darkness around and within you? If you would take just a moment and think about what you are going through and think about what is actually real to you…..you will certainly notice that nothing is changing for the better in your present state of mind.

I am certainly not saying don’t be depressed…because life and situations can press you down. What I am saying is stop, inhale and exhale a few times and try, try hard to either engage in something pleasant, go somewhere that makes you feel good, look at nature and its entire splendor and recognize the Universal Mind and the connection to you. Count your blessings. This certainly will help. Pay attention to the fact that you can walk, speak, dress yourself and love. Surround yourself with positive people, smile, go see a funny movie…if that is not feasible…play with a child, visit and older person. You will see differently and feel lighter. Once the weight is no long pressing you down and the “light” has began to flicker you will definitely feel better. Hold on to this flicker of light because soon it will expand-but you must stay positive. Like attracts like –something that we have heard all of our lives. I give you this-Light attracts Light. Keep the Light going…..and soon that particular challenge will go as well. Give it to the Light in order to stay “lite.”

Blessings
